The Columns  Are capped with Glass block and glow with a soft Blue solar powered LED that marks the gates at night, but contribute very little light pollution so that the wonderful view of the stars is preserved for all. It is difficult to photograph the surreal beauty this gives but as you can see here a 15 sec long exposure with the addition of lights from the Artic cat  Captured very clearly the planet Jupiter in the upper right.
